And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them?
The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.”
(Matthew 9:15)

Vision: Engaging the Church of Chico to 10 DAYS of worship, prayer and fasting with an emphasis on uniting believers, drawing them deeper in their faith, and longing for the return of our Lord.

Purpose:
•    Revealing Unity - Revealing and advancing the unity of the Body of Christ in your area through a corporate time of consecration that engages a large cross-section of believers
•    Seeking Maturity - Awakening, strengthening, and purifying believers individually through an extended season of engagement with God and withdrawal from things of the world
•    Desiring Christ’s Return - A specific emphasis of the 10 DAYS is on “eagerly waiting” (Rom 8:25) for the return of Christ.

Structure: Consecrated Time is the overall theme of the 10 DAYS.  Through experiences on retreat, at prayer summits, in fasting, or other extended times of worship, many of us have experienced the power of extended times set-apart to seek God.  The 10 DAYS is designed to usher many Christians within our city into this type of experience together.

Fasting: Daniel Fast (vegan fast) or a liquid fast is recommended for the 10 day period.  Other forms of fasting may include turning off the media/electronics in order to tune into hearing God's voice and to have a great emphasis on His written Word.  Fasting is a great way for people to engage in the 10 DAYS even if their schedule prohibits them from attending corporate gatherings.

Ongoing Worship and Prayer is the heart of the 10 DAYS.  Believers are invited to set themselves apart for corporate worship and prayer, taking time off from “normal life”.  This is expressed corporately by setting up a location or locations for ongoing prayer with either 24/7 prayer or set-times.  The Prayer House will be available for morning worship and prayer on September 17-22 and 24-25, 8am-12pm.

Evening Gatherings are the most visible part of the gathering.
Each night, a different group of congregations and ministries will host a gathering of worship and prayer to form mobile, 10-day movement.  People who attend from night to night will experience the Church her diverse array of traditions.  Please refer to the 10 DAYS of evening locations below.

Partnership: Believers in Boston and the cities of South Shore, Mass. are planning city and regional 10 DAYS gatherings during this time.

Fall Feasts: This gathering occurs during the “10 Days of Awe” on the Biblical calendar.  Beginning with the Day of Trumpets and ending with the Day of Atonement.  These dates symbolically point to both the finished work of the cross and the return of Christ.
